KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Justice on Saturday said it has granted licenses to 551 social institutes and extended the licenses of 72 other institutes in the six first months of the current solar year.
A statement from MoJ received by Pajhwok Afghan News said that the institutes included organizations, associations, councils and foundations and the total number of them reached 4,665 in the country.
The source said that 72 other institutes extended their licenses while the documents of 57 others were rejected.
The documents of 240 other institutes are currently under process and they would be soon finalized, the statement added.
Activities of the social institutes in Kabul and provinces were also monitored during the period as some of them disobeyed the rules and law, the ministry said.
The source said that the ministry also issued license to a newly established political party during the period. The licenses of six political parties had been extended, it said.
According to MoJ, currently 73 political parties are registered with the ministry.
Besides these institutes, 492 property dealers also received licenses while 21 others were closed for violations in the last six months, the statement said.
