Ghani appears after fleeing country, vows to return

KABUL (Pajhwok): Ashraf Ghani has said that enemies of the country planned to repeat former President Dr. Najibullah’s scenario by killing him and pledged to return to the country soon.

Ghani fled the country on Sunday after the Taliban overrun capital Kabul, it was the first time since the disappearance of Ghani.

“I was on my way to the Ministry of Defence last Sunday to observe the situation. Suddenly my security team informed me about a plot of my killing and took me to a safe place.”

He said the Taliban pledged not to enter Kabul but they covertly entered Kabul and deployed their armed personnel outside Presidential Palace.

Ghani said he did not want to stay in Kabul at the cost of bloodshed in every street of Kabul City.

Ghani said he did not escaped from Afghanistan nor he sold the country. Mullah Umar also, Abdul Rahman Khan, Ameer Sher Ali Khan and other leaders fled the country and returned for the next phase.
