KABUL (Pajhwok): The first consignment of 36 tonnes of essential items assistance from Russia arrived in Kabul on Thursday.
In a statement, the Ministry of Information and Culture said the three planeloads of aid — including flour, ghee and blankets — arrived in Kabul today.
Afghan officials thanked Russia and its people for sending the aid and called on other countries to assist the Afghans.
The remaining 72 tonnes of Russian aid would be shipped to Afghanistan in two more phases, the ministry added.
