4 women among 7 dead in Herat bus explosion

KABUL (Pajhwok): Seven individual have been killed in a bomb blast on a minibus in western Herat province, local officials say.

The explosion occurred in the 12^th police district of Herat City, the provincial capital, late on Saturday, a police spokesman said.

At least nine people, mostly women, were wounded in the attack in a Shia-dominated locality, said Arif Jalali, Herat Zonal Hospital head.

A statement from the police headquarters said the vehicle exploded in Haji Abbas area at at 6:50pm. Police are investigating the incident.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing. The device was attached to the fuel tank of the bus.
