SHARAN (Pajhwok): The family of two murdered women (mother and daughter) in southeastern Paktika province has asked the government to find perpetrators of the incident and bring them to justice.

Four days ago, a mother and her daughter found dead in mysterious circumstances in the Marghai village of Barmal district.

Hilal, a resident of the district, told Pajhwok Afghan News the slain women were his mother and sister and they had been killed in their house. He called on the government to arrest the murders and severely punish them.

“Our families had decided to marry my sister to a cousin in their childhood, but my sister refused to marry the cousin. But she married the cousin as per the decision our elders. She faced violence at the hands of her in-laws.”

He said the situation deteriorated and led to divorce. “Her husband said he would divorce her after three months and eventually my mother and sister were killed in their house.”

A credible intelligence source speaking on the condition of anonymity told Pajhwok that security forces had reached the area after the incident and launched investigation.

The source promised to arrest the perpetrators of the incident and bring them to justice as soon as possible.
