Farah Provincial Hospital upgraded to 150 beds

FARAH (Pajhwok): A state-run hospital in western Farah province has been upgraded from 120 beds to 150, a public health official said on Tuesday.

Hospital Director Dr. Serajuddin Muzamil told Pajhwok Afghan News that the ministry of public health (MoPH) upgraded the hospital upon their request. Muzamil added that they would try hard to upgrade the hospital further to a 200 beds hospital because the facility still lacked the capacity to meet public health demands.

On the other hand, the residents of Farah City also complained about the lengthy and time-consuming way to the hospital.

They said that most of the time they could not deliver the patients to the hospital on time, and residents demanded the opening of the emergency ward.

Hamidullah, a resident of Dar Abad area of Farah city, asked the government for more health facilities and added, “Some people, due to the lack of health services in Farah, delivered their patients to Herat for treatment.
