MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): Thousands of needy families on Sunday received food assistance in the Chak district of central Maidan Wardak province.
The Department of Rural Development and Reconstruction said aid was delivered to 3,200 deserving households by the World Food Program (WFP).
In a statement, the department said each family received 50 kilograms of flour, 5 litres of ghee, 6.5 kilograms of pulses and half a kilogram of salt.
Roohullah, a resident of the district, said: “Our family needs will be met for some days with this aid, but people are faced with serious economic problems and the assistance is not enough.”
