38 armed opponents killed in Badakhshan operation

FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): At least 38 government armed opponents were killed and 78 others arrested during a week-long operation in northeastern Badakhshan province, an official said on Monday.

Maazuddin Ahmadi, director Information and Culture Affairs Department, said the operation was underway in Arghanjkhwa, Kohistan, Yaftal Bala districts and some other areas of the province.

He said 38 armed opponents were killed and 78 others arrested during the operations.

Ahmadi added, armed opponents commanders Abdul Hamid Mujahid and Sayed Bahruddin Agha, were among the dead.

According to him, three security personnel were also killed and five others wounded during the operation.

Armed opponents group have not spoken about Badakhshan Operation said.
