KABUL (Pajhwok): Seven million people die yearly worldwide due to air pollution, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Thursday.
On its twitter page, the organization wrote that 99 percent of the world’s population now breathed polluted air.
“Around seven million people die in the world each year due to air pollution.”
The UN agency said 90 percent of those affected lived in low- and middle-income countries.
Recently, deputy director of Planning and Policy of the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Mohammad Hassan Ghayasi, said about 2287 people die every year due to air pollution and respiratory diseases in Kabul alone.
