27 Parwan criminal men, women lashed in public

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Seventeen men and 10 women have been lashed in a sport stadium in central Parwan province in connection to different crimes they committed, an official said on Thursday.

Magistrate Mawlavi Noorullah Hammad was calling the name of every criminal and then the criminal was brought by a policeman to the ground to receive punishment. Woman criminal was brought by two policepersons.

Appellant Court Head Shaikh Mohammad Qaseem Mohammadi said these individuals were handed punishment in connection to homosexuality, fraud, elopement and robbery in front of hundreds of people. Each criminal was hit 25 to 39 lashes.

“This is a lesson for the criminals and those watching, this punishment will help bring down crimes, corruption and murders in the society,” he said.

Governor Mawlavi Obaidullah Aminzada, said the implementation of divine punishment — Hodud and the establishment of Islamic system was as a result of sacrifices of thousands of youth.

He said the leadership of the Islamic system had ordered not to have mercy on aggressors and ensure the rights of suppressed people is not violated.

Police Chief Mullah Azizullah Umar said: “Our elders offered heavy price and sacrifices for the establishment of Islamic system.

The punishment comes that on Wednesday a murder was executed for the murder he committed in Farah province.
