UNICEF guard dies after accidently shooting himself

QALA-I-NAW (Pajhwok): A United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) security guard has died after accidently shooting himself in northwestern Badghis province, police said on Monday.

Police spokesman Sediqullah Sediqi in a statement said that the incident took place in the jurisdiction of the second police district of Qala-i-Naw city on Sunday night.

The statement said initial investigation showed the guard mistakenly shot himself and died.

Saddiqi identified the man as Abdul Qader, a resident of Kashk Kahna district

Pajhwok tried to contact the UNICEF office, but did not succeed.
