KABUL (Pajhwok): Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi has left for Uzbekistan to attend a meeting of top diplomats from Afghanistan’s neighbours in Samarkand.
Muttaqi would meet his counterparts from regional countries on the sidelines of the two-day meeting, Hafiz Zia Ahmad, Ministry of Foreign Affairs deputy spokesman said on Thursday.
Foreign ministers of Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are attending the two-day meeting, which begins today.
The participants will discuss the steps taken by regional partners to facilitate a political settlement in Afghanistan and the humanitarian and socio-economic situation in the country.
