6 Pakistani police killed in clash with kidnappers in Sindh

KABUL (Pajhwok): Six Pakistani police personnel have been killed in a shootout with a gang of kidnappers in southeastern Sindh province.

Radio Mashal quoted Pakistani police as saying that the Jacobabad-based band of criminals kidnapped the son of a rice mill owner in Dera Allah Yar city, the headquarters of Jaffarabad district of neighboring Balochistan province.

The kidnappers brought the hostage to nearby Jacobabad district in Sindh.

Dera Allah Yar police chief Sardar Hassan Khan Musakhel told Radio Mashaal that a group of the anti-terrorism force of Balochistan police chased the kidnappers.

In an exchange of gunfire, six policemen were killed and two others were injured.

Balochistan’s chief minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenju had ordered an inquiry into the incident.
