Projects worth 64 million afs completed in Laghman

MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): Seven development projects costing more than 64 million afghanis have been completed and put into service in Alingar district of eastern Laghman province.

Maulavi Salamat Khan Bilal, the spokesman for the governor’s office, told Pajhwok Afghan News the seven projects were financed by the World Food Program (WFP).

Bilal said over 64 million afs were spent on the projects and they took a few months to complete.

The schemes included construction of retaining walls, concreting irrigation channels, construction of roads and plantation of saplings, he added.

He said the projects would benefit hundreds of families and protect thousands of acres of cultivation land from floods.
