KABUL (Pajhwok): Japan’s special envoy for Afghanistan Kansuke Nagaoka has promised his country would assist Afghanistan in the sector of education.
Acting Minister of Higher Education Maulvi Neda Mohammad Nadeem met Japan’s special representative Kansuke Nagaoka and ambassador Takashi Okada in Kabul on Monday.
Hafiz Ziaullah Hashimi, a spokesman for the MoHE, tweeted: “The acting minister shared details about the education system and achievements in this sector with the Japanese delegation.”
Hashimi quoted Nadeem as saying: “It is good that foreign diplomats come to Afghanistan and see the situation closely so that they do not judge based on the propaganda and based on biased attitude.”
The acting minister urged Nagaoka to cooperate with Afghanistan in the construction of university buildings, equipping laboratories, and training teachers.
Meanwhile, the Japanese envoy and ambassador commended the security situation of Afghanistan and said current situation was suitable for the development of education and other sectors.
The Japanese delegation also vowed to assist Afghanistan in the education sector, Hashimi concluded.
