More than 3,500 Afghans return from Pakistan, Iran

KABUL (Pajhwok): More than 3,540 Afghans have returned from Pakistan and Iran, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) announced on Monday.

MoRR tweeted that 2,361 Afghan refugees returned from Iran via the Islam Qala port.

It said 294 people were referred to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for assistance after registration with the Refugee and Repatriation Department.

From Pakistan, 179 Afghans returned to the country through the Spin Boldak crossing in southern Kandahar province, the ministry added.

According to the ministry, 24 of them were forcibly sent back to the country while the rest returned voluntarily.

A couple of days ago, 2,076 Afghan refugees came back to Afghanistan from Iran the other day, the ministry said.
