KABUL (Pajhwok): The World Food Program (WFP) supported more than four million women and children in Afghanistan with specialized nutritious food to prevent or treat malnutrition so far this year.
In a tweet, WFP said currently 3.2 million people in Afghanistan are malnourished.
It said specialized nutritious food was distributed to more than four million women and children in Afghanistan so far this year to prevent or treat malnutrition.
Meanwhile, UNICEF said during the first five months of the year, 273,000 children suffering from acute malnutrition in Afghanistan were treated with financial support of WFP.
During this period, UNICEF said 60,000 children suffering from acute malnutrition were treated during the month of May this year alone.
