KABUL (Pajhwok): The government of Pakistan has deported 43 Afghan migrants while 921 more have returned home voluntarily in the past six days, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) says.
MoRR said in a series of tweets wrote on Saturday that 18 Afghan citizens were deported by Pakistan on August 3 through the Torkham crossing.
It wrote the deportees did not possess legal migration documents after spending a month in Pakistani prisons.
According to another report, 921 more Afghans returned voluntarily from Pakistan. At least 25 others were deported on release from prisons.
MoRR said the migrants returned from Pakistan via the Spin Boldak crossing in Kandahar between July 29 and August 3.
The returnees were referred to the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) after their registration with the local refugee office.
Based on information from MoRR, the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) also provided awareness and training on explosives and safety to the returnees.
Those under the age of 18 were referred to the Afghan Reconstruction Organisation for identification and their families, the ministry added.
