Pajhwok Twitter page followers reach one million

KABUL (Pajhwok): Pajhwok Afghan News has amassed one million followers on social media networking website twitter and more than 2.5 million on its Facebook page.

Pajhwok is Afghanistan’s largest, reliable and independent news agency with headquarters in Kabul and a wide network of reporters in all parts of the country.

Pajhwok delivers an average daily output of three dozen stories in Pashto, Dari and English.  Pajhwok also provides photographs, video footage and audio clips to international wire agencies, television and radio stations.

The news agency also initiated visual programs, such as round tables, special interviews, introducing the country’s historical areas and culture, and Voice of People programs and it also shares people’s opinions and demands with the authorities.

Pajhwok editor-in-chief Danish Kharokhel thanked the fans for supporting the news agency and expressed happiness that its Twitter page followers had reached one million.

“We renew our promise with people that we will present them the true image of events and our country and we will convey the voice of our people who are suffering to the authorities concerned and the world,” he added.

Views about Pajhwok

Hujatullah Mujadidi, head of Afghanistan Independent Journalists Association, said that Pajhwok Afghan News that since the beginning, Pajhwok started its work with a committed team and tried to carry out its work professionally.

Mujadidi said Pajhwok was a reliable source for domestic and foreign media and  continued its work without interruption and with impartiality.

Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, said Pajhwok was known as a reliable media outlet in Afghanistan.

He said: “Since its foundation, Pajhwok has taken into account news standards and principles of journalism in most areas. We hope that Pajhwok will maintain its credibility after this as well.”

He said: “We appreciate the hard work and efforts of our colleagues and we wish them success in forming a free, independent, reliable and accurate Afghan media outlet.”

Abdul Ghayur Waziri, head of the Killid Group, also said that Pajhwok was one of the most reliable news agencies in the country.

He said Pajhwok was highly professional, impartial and committed to national interests and always strived to deliver timely news and information to the people.

“As far as I’m concerned, Pajhwok has faced many ups and downs, but it remained committed to its viewers in all circumstances and conveyed information to them. After the fall of the previous government, many media outlets were closed due to various reasons, but Pajhwok remained active and determined to provide information to the people,” he added.

Zia-ul-HaqAmarkhel, head of the National Stability Association and former governor of Nangarhar, also said that Pajhwok was one of the most reliable media outlets in Afghanistan and had special reputation and confidence in the Afghan society.

He said: “Pajhwok has viewers and readers in different areas of Afghanistan. Now is the age of social media, so Pajhwok also has many followers on social pages; Especially its Twitter followers have reached one million. I congratulate them from the bottom of my heart and hope that the voice of Afghans will reach the world and the authorities.”

Fazal Rabi Labib, 25, a follower of Pajhwok Twitter page said he was following Pajhwok since long.

He said: “Pajhwok followers and fans are increasing day by day and now its twitter followers have reached one million people, that means it has a special place in people’s heart.”
