KABUL (Pajhwok): More than 70 aircraft and helicopters of the Afghan Air Force (AAF) have been repaired in the past two years, says a senior official.
AAF Commander Abdul Ghaffar Mohammadi said maintenance teams also fixed a Russian MI-17 helicopter recently.
TOLOnews quoted him as saying: “Our maintenance team has repaired more than 70 aircraft and helicopters. Some of the helicopters and aircraft are still being repaired.”
Defence analyst Yousuf Ameen Zazai, meanwhile, hailed the repair of AAF assets as a positive step.
Political commentator Sadiq Shinwari believed the helicopters would strengthen AAF. He asked the Islamic Emirate to make efforts in this regard.
