KABUL (Pajhwok): Eleven athletes of wrestling, ju-jitsu and karate have left for china to participate in the Asian Games, the Afghanistan National Olympic Committee (NOC) said on Saturday.
The NOC and the General Directorate of Sports wrote on X that eleven Afghan athletes had left for Hangzhou in the eastern province of Zhejiang to participate in the games, the biggest event since the Covid-19 pandemic.
It added China is hosting the Asian Games commenced on September 23, in which more than 80 athletes from Afghanistan are participating in 15 different sports.
Mohammad Khalid Hotak and Nasratullah Habibi in Wushu and Mohsen Rezaei in taekwondo had won bronze medals in the competitions so far.
