PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistan has deported more Afghan refugees to their homeland via Chaman, Torkham and Angoor Adda crossings, officials say.
Seventeen undocumented migrants, who had come to Peshawar from Punjab province, were repatriated through the Torkham crossing point on Tuesday.
Another 147 illegal migrant left a transit point in Peshawar for Torkham, from where they were sent to Afghanistan, local officials said.
Dawn reported 23 Afghans returned to their country via the Angoor Adda crossing in the former tribal region of South Waziristan.
Balochistan Minister for Information Jan Achakzai said more than 66,000 illegal Afghans refugees returned through the Chaman crossing last week.
Addressing a press conference in Quetta, he said the returnees included 26,000 refugees who had come from Sindh’s port city of Karachi and other areas of that province.
