KABUL (Pajhwok): Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) has informed all commercial banks and representatives of foreign banks to pay $1,000 per week to individual account holders and 70,000 afghanis per week to such accounts.
In a statement, the central bank said all commercial banks and branches of foreign banks are obliged to implement the conditions in order to solve financial problems of the citizens and provide banking activities and services.
The bank said individual foreign currency account holders should be given $1,000 a week and if the money is requested once a month, then $3,000 should be paid to customers on a monthly basis.
About 70,000 afghanis are paid to individual account holders per week and 250,000 afghanis to clients on a monthly basis if they want to withdraw once a month.
Customers of government and non-government companies are given five percent of their deposits by commercial banks, but they should not exceed $100,000 or equivalent amount in other currencies on a monthly basis.
Earlier, US dollar individual account holders were paid $600 per week and could receive $2,000 per month.
Individual afghani account holders were given 50,000 afghanis a week and they could withdraw 200,000 afghanis from their accounts only once a month before.
