Drugs processing lab destroyed in Uruzgan

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): A drugs producing factory was found in a house and destroyed in Charchinu district of central Uruzgan province, police said on Wednesday.

Police spokesman Bilal Uruzgani told Pajhwok Afghan News that security forces discovered the factory in Yakhdan area of the district on Tuesday night.

He said that about 250 kilograms of ephedra and 100 liters of diesel and equipment used in processing drugs were also seized from the factory.

He added the lab was secretly operated inside a house where more than 900km of ephedra was kept for processing.

According to him, one suspect has been arrested in connection with the factory.
