LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Four people have been arrested for allegedly smuggling iron and copper in Garamser district of southern Helmand province, an official said on Saturday.
Maulvi Sher Mohammad Wahdad, deputy director of information and culture, told Pajhwok Afghan News security forces seized two vehicles loaded with over 63 tons of iron and copper in Bibi Tiri and Jandom areas of the district.
He said four people, including the drivers, have been arrested in connection with the smuggling bid.
He added the detainees wanted to smuggle the iron and copper to Pakistan.
