JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Pakistan on Sunday once again closed the Torkham crossing for passengers, say officials in eastern Nangarhar province.
Sediqullah Qureshi, an official of the Information and Culture Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News Pakistan shut the crossing for unknown reasons on Sunday morning.
According to him, the crossing point was only shut for passengers and the Pakistan side did not reveal reasons behind the closure.
Qureshi added efforts were underway to reopen the gate for passengers, who are said to be facing problems due to the Pakistani decision.
A handcart worker in Torkham, who declined to be named, said travellers were not allowed to cross the gate because a clash had happened among Pakistani officials.
