KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Maulvi Abdul Kabir says some regional and global circles have launched propaganda about the existence of or the Islamic State (IS) in Afghanistan.
He made the remarks while addressing an Iftar dinner with ambassadors and diplomats from a number of countries here on Saturday, the Presidential Palace said in a statement.
The deputy premier welcomed representatives of foreign countries and hoped the number of diplomats and ambassadors in Kabul would increase next year.
He said the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) desired to have positive relations with all countries in line with its economy-oriented foreign policy.
Regional countries could work together to create and foster regional initiatives, he said, promising the caretaker government would not allow the use of Afghanistan’s territory against anyone, especially neighbours.
He claimed some groups in the region and the world had started propaganda regarding the presence of Daesh militants in Afghanistan.
“Daesh is not the enemy of Afghanistan only, it is also enemy of humanity, the region and the world. The caretaker government has defeated the group in Afghanistan and no one should lobby for strengthening it,” Kabir stressed.
While referring to positive changes made by IEA, he once again asked foreign countries to eschew forced deportations of Afghan refugees.
