KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) says nearly 28,000 foreigners entered and exited Afghanistan for tourism and work last year.
The NSIA said in a report that 27,914 foreign citizens were registered entering and exiting the country through the crossings and airports during solar year 1402
Last year, the report said, 15,153 people, including 675 women, entered the country and another 12,761 foreigners, of them 485 women, left the country last year.
Based on NISA information, foreign nationals entered and exited via the crossings in Nimroz, Herat, Torkham and Kabul international airport.
The foreign tourists visited ancient sites and tourist attractions in Bamyan, Herat, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Ghor, Badakhshan, Kunduz, Paktia, Khost, Nuristan, Balkh, Samangan and Kunar provinces.
