Rehab work on drinking water supply projects starts in Ghor

FEROZKOH (Pajhwok):  Reconstruction work has been launched on five water supply schemes in western Ghor province to enable more than 2,000 families to find access to clean water, an official said on Sunday.

Ghor Rural Development and Rehabilitation director Zabihullah Ghawsi Zada told Pajhwok Afghan News the water supply schemes were being reconstructed in Taywara, Dolina, Charsada districts and Ferozkoh city.

He said: “The projects include reconstruction and restoration of reservoirs and springs, pressure breakers, new faucets, extension of pipes, construction of surrounding walls to protect solar panels”.

UNICEF would complete the five projects at a cost of 10.6 million afghanis, he added.

According to Ghawsi Zada, many people will work during the implementation of the projects and more than 2,000 families will find access to drinking water.
