19-year-old girl commits suicide in Kunar

ASADABAD (Pajhwok): A 19-year-old girl has committed suicide in the Shegal district of eastern Kunar province, an official said on Tuesday.

Police spokesman Faridullah Dehqan told Pajhwok Afghan News a young girl ended her life by shooting herself with a gun in Atto area of the district on Monday.

He said the motive behind the suicide was yet to be known and police launched an investigation into the incident.

Suicide is forbidden in Islam, but some suicides happen due to family, mental or economic problems in the country.
