Heavy rain, flashfloods predicted in 17 provinces

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation (MoTCA) has predicted more rainfall and subsequent flooding in 17 provinces on Wednesday.

MoTCA wrote on X that heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and flashfloods were likely in Badakhshan, Takhar, Baghlan, Samangan, Bamyan, Parwan, Kapisa, Panjsher, Nuristan, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Kabul, Wardak, Paktia and Khost provinces, including areas related to northern and southern Salang pass.

It predicted the possible amount of rain between 15 and 40 millimeters.

MoTCA also said western, central and southern provinces and areas related to Salang pass could experience relatively strong and dusty winds with possible speed between 50 and 80 kilometers per hour.
