Unexploded shell kills 4 children in Faryab

MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Four children were killed when an unexploded rocket shell went off in the Pashtunkot district of northern Faryab province on Sunday.

Qari Abdul Wakil, administrative chief for Pashtunkot district, told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast happened in Dahenda area of the district at around 8:30am this morning.

He said the children had found the unexploded shell, and they were playing with it when it exploded, killing four children, including a girl.

Maulvi Shamsuddin Mohammadi, director of information and culture, also confirmed the incident.
