Young man drowns in Helmand river

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): A young man died after drowning in a river while swimming in Lashkargah, the capital of southern Helmand province, an official said on Sunday.

Governor’s spokesman Maulvi Mohammad Qasim Riaz told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Mukhtar area of the provincial capital on Saturday.

He said the body was found today noon and handed over to his family.

The victim was a resident of Nawzad district.
