KABUL‘s largest opium-producing region, an official said on Sunday.
More than 660 kilograms of opium, which the smugglers were carrying in a pickup truck, were seized as a result of the clash in Sangin district, the deputy counternarcotics minister said.
Baz Mohammad Ahmadi, told Pajhwok Afghan News the clash led to the death of the pickup driver and arrest of his accomplice.
Separately, a drug trafficker was detained with 52 kilograms of opium during an operation in Zaranj, the capital of southwestern Nimroz province.
