KABUL, taking the UK death toll to 373, the British Ministry of Defence said on Friday.
One soldier from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, serving with the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, died in a bomb attack in southern Afghanistan.
The serviceman was caught in a bomb blast at Adinza’i in the Gereshk valley area, in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand province on Thursday, the ministry said. Their next of kin have been informed.
The ministry later announced that a soldier from the Parachute Regiment had been killed by small arms fire the same day.
Their deaths bring to 373 the total number of UK service personnel to have lost their lives in the Afghanistan conflict since 2001.
