LASHKARGAH (PAN): A district attorney was killed in a roadside bombing in the restive southern province of Helmand on Sunday morning, an official said.
Maja district attorney, Mohammad Laal, was killed when his vehicle struck the roadside, the governor’s spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The victim was on the way to his office, according to Omar Zwak, who said the explosion occurred close to Laal’s residence in Marja, a Taliban-infested district 35 kilometres west of Lashkargah.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing, which came 10 days after the death of the provincial High Peace Council head, Malim Shah Wali, in a similar attack.
