Women’s role in peace, security stressed

KABUL’s proactive role in peace and security to the country, with the government reiterating its commitment to giving females all their due rights.

A joint initiative of the Centre for Strategic Studies and the Human Rights and Women’s International Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a conference on women, peace and security was held in Kabul.

Several government officials, members of civil society as well as a number of ambassadors and Kabul-based representatives of international organisations participated in the conference.

Speakers highlighted the current needs, opportunities and challenges in promoting women’s role in peace, security and betterment of their status, a statement from the ministry said.

They also referred to the achievements Afghanistan and economy.
