GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Unidentified gunmen shot dead a leading tribal elder in Dehyak district of the southern Ghazni province, an official said on Monday.
Faiz Mohammad Topan, district police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place late last night.
Gunmen opened fire on tribal elder, Sayed Amanullah, as he left mosque, leaving him dead on the spot, he added.
Abdul Ghaffar, a resident of the district, said Amanullah was killed by two unidentified motorbike riders the moment when he left the village mosque.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
