He expressed these views while talking to a 10-member Afghan delegation led by Mirwais Yasini, the first Vice Speaker of Afghan Olasi Jirga. The delegation, after participation in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) left for Afghanistan today.
Senator Mushahid who was also Chairman of the organizing Committee of the APA saw off the delegation at Nur Khan Airbase, Rawalpindi.
Leader and other members of Afghan delegation agreed with the view of Senator Mushahid and said that both Pakistan and Afghanistan want peace and stability in the region to safeguard the future of coming generations.
They also thanked the Pakistani Senator for extended hospitality and warm felicitations for organizing such a conference in which issues concerning Asian region were discussed and debated thoroughly.
On the occasion, the Senator observed the 6th Plenary of APA was unique and would, in the long run, help in achieving the objectives of peaceful and prosperous Asia.
He said Afghanistan is an important country and a stable, peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan is in the best interest of Pakistan and the region.
Leader of delegation emphasized that enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan would help in promoting peace and stability in both countries.
