<p>JALALABAD (Pajhwok): <a href="/en/afghanistan" class="glossify-link">Afghanistan</a>’s Independent Human Rights Commission (IHRC) on Saturday launched an investigation to determine the causes of increasing traffic accidents across the country.</p>

<p>The commission made this announcement at a gathering in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province.</p>
<p>IHRC members <a href="/en/maulvi" class="glossify-link">Maulvi</a> activists.</p>
<p>Issues pertaining to an increase in traffic mishaps came up for discussion. Last year, 3,000 people were killed in accident across the country, Hotak said.</p>
<p>He added the commission had initiated an investigation to point out the causes of growing road in the country.</p>
<p>Nuristani deplored the Afghans were increasingly losing their lives to violence on the one hand and to road accidents on the other.</p>
<p>Haji Allah Nazar, the provincial traffic department head, said traffic police needed advanced training to curb rising mishaps.</p>
