MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): Six Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers and three civilians were killed during separate suicide and gun attack in the same district of central Maidan Wardak province on Sunday, an official said.
The suicide bomber rammed his explosives-packed vehicle into an armoured military vehicle travelling in the ANA convoy in Syedabad district, killing three ANA soldiers, as many civilians and injuring two soldiers and six civilians.
The attack took place in the Salar area on the Kabul-Kandahar highway this afternoon. The civilians were travelling in a passenger van and a car. The two private vehicles were destroyed in the blast. All the injured have been taken to hospital in southern Ghazni province.
In the same area, a separate ANA convoy came under attack from insurgents and as a result, three soldiers were killed and six others were wounded, according to Khogyani.
The 205th Atal Military Corps convoy was traveling from Kabul to Kandahar province, he said.
