KABUL (Pajhwok): Often blamed for mistreating refugees, Iran on Thursday promised creating 50,000 jobs for the Afghans living in the neighbouring country.
Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Raza Behrami held out the promise during a meeting with President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai at the Presidential Palace here.
A statement from Ahmadzai’s office said Behrami delivered greetings from Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to the Afghan leader on his assumption of office.
Iran always desired peace and stability in Afghanistan, the ambassador said, adding they were ready for cooperation with the neighbour in different spheres.
Ahmadzai thanked his Iranian counterpart, saying Kabul-Tehran cooperation would never be harmed by Afghanistan’s ties with a third country.
