KABUL (Pajhwok): At least seven Afghan National Army (ANA) commandos were wounded on Tuesday when a magnetic bomb fixed to their vehicle exploded in the capital Kabul, police said.
Kabul police spokesman Hashmat Stanikzai told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast in Rishkhoor area in limits of the sixth police district took place shortly after 7am.
The injured army commandos had been shifted to a nearby health facility and they were said to be in stable condition, he said.
Defence Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Zahir Azimi confirmed the blast and casualties.
However, another source said one of the injured soldiers had died in the attack.
Obaidullah, giving an eyewitness account, said it was a powerful blast and he saw the wounded persons being ferried to hospital by ambulances.
Soon after the blast, the Taliban claimed responsibility for it, with the group’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said a number of ANA soldiers had been killed and wounded.
