MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Three civilians were wounded in an explosion in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province, on Friday.
Placed in a handcart, the bomb went off in the fruit market at about 2pm, police spokesman Sher Jan Durrani told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The injured were evacuated to hospital for medical treatment, the spokesman said, without commenting on their condition.
Eyewitness Mohammadullah said it was the third blast jolting the area in the last five months. He deplored civilian casualties in such attacks.
