LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Two policemen have been killed and two others wounded in the Taliban attacks in the Sangin district of southern Helmand province, an official said on Friday.
Sangin police chief Col. Hamdullah told Pajhwok Afghan News the police casualties resulted from overnight assaults on four police posts in the district.
The coordinated attacks triggered an hour-long firefight between the two sides, according to the officials, who said nothing about Taliban’s casualties.
Meanwhile, Taliban spokesman Qari Yousaf Ahmadi claimed the fighters had killed and wounded many policemen in Sangin and snatched at least five weapons from them.
