GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Eleven people, including miitants and security guards of a private security company, were killed in the southern province of Ghazni on Thursday, officials said.
Tow Taliban-led soldiers in Aab Band district late on Wednesday, provincial police chief, Col. Zarawar Zahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Another six rebels and three security guards of a private security company were killed when the fighters attacked a logistic convoy of foreign soldiers in the Mulnoh Baba area on the Kabul-Kandahar highway, he said. Four private security guards were wounded in the ensung clash.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said the fighters had killed some security guards and torched their three vehicles in the area. Watan Risk Company staffers were the target, he added.
The company’s head, Qudratullah, confirmed the attack on the guards, but had no information about the casualties.
