JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A district chief on Tuesday survived a roadside bombing that ripped through his motorcade in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said.
The Batikot district chief, Haji Ghalib, was travelling in a vehicular convoy from Jalalabad, the provincial capital, when the hidden bomb struck a vehicle behind his car, injuring three bodyguards, the governor’s spokesman, Ahmad Zia Abulzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the district chief escaped unhurt in the blast.
The district chief also confirmed the incident to Pajhwok Afghan News and said two of his sons and a nephew were wounded in the blast.
He said the wounded persons were in stable condition and being treated in hospital.
