KABUL and Religious Affairs (MoHRA) on Tuesday announced the first Hajj flight taking pilgrims to Saudi Arabia would depart tomorrow (Wednesday).
MoHRA Minister Faiz Mohammad Osmani told a news conference that 24,000 pilgrims would perform Hajj this year.

The pilgrims would depart from Kabul, Kandahar, Herat and Mazar-i-Sharif airports in Aryana Afghan Airline and the airline would take 23 days to complete the operation, he said.

Osmani added that 1,000 of the pilgrims would be taken to Saudi Arabia on a daily basis.

Afghan pilgrims were being facilitated with new services, he said, adding that three times food per day in Makkah, distribution of Zamzam water, transport facilities and health services were among facilities to be given to pilgrims.

There was $7 million decrease in pilgrims flight tickets compared to the previous years, he said, adding that each pilgrim pays only $2,450 for his/her flight ticket, three time food in a day and residential room.

Last year also, MoHRA said a total of 24,000 Afghan pilgrims performed Hajj.

The Ayana Afghan Airlines Company head Daud Sharif assured the company would provide all the available facilities to passengers.
