Senior Daesh among 3 killed in Achin drone strike

JALALABAD (Pajhwok):  A NATO drone killed three Daesh or Islamic State (IS) militants, including their commander, in eastern Nangarhar province on Tuesday, an official said.

The governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogiani, told Pajhwok Afghan News the drone targeted a vehicle carrying insurgent commander, Qari Sajjad, on Tuesday afternoon in Achin district, killing Sajjad and two others.

Some ammunition and weapons were also destroyed in the air raid that took place Zorda Sarak area at about 2pm, he said.

There has been no word from the self-styled Islamic State group about the drone strike.
