KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Five Taliban’s group leaders were killed in an airstrike by the Afghan security forces in Chardara district of northern Kunduz province on Saturday, an official said.
Gen. Mohiuddin Ghori, commander of the 20th Pamir Division unit, told Pajhwok Afghan News the airstrike hit a vehicle carrying insurgents in Qasab village of the district. Five senior Taliban members onboard the vehicle were killed in the incident, he said.
He said the dead militants included Mullah Mazlom, Qari Hamza, Qari Abdullah and Ghulam Hazrat, but didn’t name the fifth one.
There has been no word from the Taliban regarding the airstrike.
